The chances of finding vegetarian main
dishes on the menus of regular French
restaurants are not good. You could
choose a selection of non-meat starters
or order an omelette or a salad, but
you'll be much better off going to an
ethnic restaurant - Middle Eastern or
Indian make a good choice - or a proper
vegetarian restaurant . There are
not many of the latter, and the ones
that do exist tend to be based on a
healthy diet principle rather than
haute cuisine , but at least you get
a choice.
